The real gem in the Austria! We loved everything! It is very well located, comfortable rooms with all the details for the skiers to dry up the clothing. The breakfast choice is just excellent! One of the best we have ever been. Also the menu for the dinner is great. And we lived a small detail as a handmade soap at the reception! Highly recommended!
2 years ago I would have offered 5 starts, but coming back and seeing how the service has worsen is very sad and disappointing. Last time we had the bathrobe, sleepers and a bag in the room to carry the items for spa. Now you had to get from the reception for 50€… Reception people was missing everyday for 4-5 h when everyone wanted to go to the pool nobody could get a towel. Freshly squeez juice was provided only in the weekend not during the week, in rest was a discussing concentrate juice. A few of the most interesting saunas were not working, soap was missing from the room and some electric plugs weren’t working …I loved it the way it was the first time but now it felt like they didn’t pay attention to the details you’d expect for the stars they have.
Friend and I went to stay at the Alpen-Karawanserai for four nights as we were supporting our friend in the World Champs Ski Race. To our disappointment, the hotel online boasts it’s 7 saunas and multiple pools but if you want to access any of these before 3:30-4pm, good luck! The included breakfast gave my friend food poisoning and it was odd because there were 30+ staff members helping themselves to the breakfast yet 99% of the time, the hotel staff were nowhere to be found. We tried to book dinner at the restaurant in the hotel but the receptionist told us that it was fully booked and we asked again later and they said there was now availability. When we got to the restaurant, we were the only ones dining there 😂. The ski storage room is very easily accessed by the public (next to the front door of the hotel) so we kept our gear in the room. The staff at times were very unhelpful. We asked one of the receptionists when the saunas and outdoor pool (opens later at night around 8pm from memory) actually open when we arrived and she said that she didn’t have a clue. The rooms were small and there were 2 concrete pillars in the middle of our room. Great location, close to the slopes but I wouldn’t waste your hundreds of euros staying at this place. Other friends stayed at the Alpen-Juwel right next door for much cheaper and it was much nicer. Also, they would blast music in the bar downstairs sometimes until midnight, frankly, the weirdest hotel I have ever stayed at. They had no staff during their apparent “peak” season in winter.
