Alpenhotel Oberstdorf ein Rovell Hotel

very nice hotel quiet location , good food and excellent spa.

My rating: 3/5 Location: I think the hotel is in a nice spot with a good view of the surrounding mountains. Around the hotel there were many paths to walk around and enjoy the views from different spots. There were many cats walking around the hotel grounds and they were all friendly which made me enjoy my stay even more. There were often many free spaces in the parking lots. The hotel is not far from the city, you can get there quickly by car. Nearby there is also a supermarket (Rewe). The hotel website does not clearly indicate that the hotel consists of several buildings, so at first we could not easily find our building without the help of someone from the staff. Rooms: The rooms were comfortable, with a range of drinks such as juices, water or beer (you had to pay extra for them). We were on holiday during a quite warm period, so the lack of AC turned the rooms into a sauna when you didn't open the windows. Restaurant: The restaurant also lacked AC, the difference is that you could quickly cool your room, which was not possible in the restaurant, so it was hot in the restaurant all the time. The food was quite tasty and the selection of breakfast and dinner was wide. Unfortunately, the service was very poor, we once waited 40 minutes to place our order. Others: I didn't use the pools, SPA or anything like that, so I can't say much about it, but the fact that such things are there, can improve your stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. It is very well located, not in Oberstdorf but a little bit away from the touristy places. The room was big and clean and the food was good although I was disappointed it was a buffet. The downsides: our shower did not work properly and we had to ask the front desk two times to have a look at it before something was done. Also, the hotel is very big and the sauna area is very small to accommodate so many people. I had a nice stay but I would not return.
