Alpenvilla Berchtesgaden

Everything about this place was incredible and felt more like staying at a friends home versus a hotel. The owner was so nice and helpful with things to do and how to work the buses around town. The rooms were big, cozy, and had balconies with amazing views of the mountains. I highly recommend staying here!

For the price, this is one of the nicest B&Bs I've ever stayed at. We were given a large suite with a wraparound veranda. The bathroom is top-notch, with multiple-spray shower. The closet is a walk-in with a ton of room. There are doors through the bedroom to the veranda, which goes around a corner of the building, and another set of doors from that to the living area. And the view is positively breathtaking! The valley spreads before you for 180 degrees. Down and to the left you look upon the town of Berchtesgaden. High on the left you can see the tip of Hitler's Kehlsteinhaus on the peak of the mountain. And you have the jagged majesty of the Alps continually before you, all covered with lush green forests, except for the jagged peaks above the treeline. Parking is easy, though you have to walk about 150 meters up the hill to the house. Breakfast on the sun porch overlooking the valley is sumptuous. Our room is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The Wifi is sometimes a bit slow, but generally works well, although you have to keep logging in. As nice as everything is, you stay in a state of awe at the view. Cannot recommend this hotel anything like strongly enough!

Stayed in a few hotels around southern Germany and this place was the best! The owner is kind and attentive. The room was huge and modern, wrap around balcony overlooking the mountains, shower was very nice and had a steam feature. Tasty breakfast. The walk in to town was nice. We also walked to the Koenigsee from the hotel as well. Would be happy to stay again.
