A nice, relaxing place to stay. The views were gorgeous. There was always someone on duty who could speak English. It would help to have a car, and it would help (in town) to speak German. I think they are mainly a ski resort, and we were there in the off season, but it's a great place to unwind. We heard about the bus but ended up taking a taxi. We did take a day trip by train to Hallstatt, which I would recommend seeing. If you want to do laundry and don't speak German, ask for help with the controls on the machines. Google translate won't work well. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars for location is that it's a drive into town. The views are definitely 5 stars.
It is part of the Hilton vacation club. I have checked in to a 1 bed hall kitchen unit. The unit was self sufficient with full kitchen with hot plate, oven, toaster, kettle, dish washer etc. full set of plates, cutleries, cups and glasses were provided. Though cannot be compared with the hotel standard this unit was planned properly and furnished reasonably well with all necessities. The view from the hall as well as the bedroom was amazing. Though a little away from the town, those who come with a vehicle there is no problem. But can reach the town on foot too. Staff were cooperative and helpful. The shortage of a restaurant may not be felt with the full kitchen provided. Thank you for providing me with a wonderful and memorable holiday experience.
Great views from out 2 bedroom suite. Great kitchen! A bit dated look but clean and very functional. It is a bit of a steep walk into town but the bus stops right around the corner. The area around Schladming is breathtaking and lots to do ! The restaurant was closed for the summer season.
