Amalia Suites

This hotel is well located for the Vatican City, being only about 4 minute walk. It is fairly central to shops, bars, restaurants. There is a metro station close by but I preferred to walk everywhere. I simply had to cross the road to find breakfast, lunch and dinner if I so desired. Manager Rodolfo and other staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and very, very clean

We contacted this hotel because of the good reviews, and were pleasantly surprised by the kindness of Rodolfo hotel "Amalia", and by the room which was worthy of a 3 star hotel. The room was very comfortable with a mini fridge and a nice shower room with toilet. We recommend this hotel, very nice staff, location close to everything: restaurant, supermarket, monuments (2 steps from the Vatican). We would like to thank Rodolfo for his welcome and his kindness. We hope to return.

There was a mixup upon checkin where they gave our room to someone else and couldn’t figure out why. It’s because they didn’t check the last name on the reservation with the passport lol. No problem though, the staff was accommodating and since we were celebrating our engagement they kindly surprised us with a torta and wine. So thoughtful! Room: pretty old and outdated furniture/bedding but very clean except for the drainage. The sink and shower did not drain well at all so kind of gross if you’re brushing your teeth and see what you just spit out 🥴 slowly slowly not really go down. There was hardly any ventilation so towels didn’t dry. There were a couple bugs that flew in and kept trying to fly in when we opened the window for fresh air. There is an elevator which is nice. Breakfast service has stopped. Location: within 8 minutes walking to the Vatican. It’s a quieter area near local shops and restaurants.
