Aman Kyoto

I normally don't write reviews but wanted to give 5* to Aman Kyoto. Their attention to detail and service were very high and were accommodating to last minute changes in my plans. For example, I wasn't able to leave for Tokyo on time and they offered me up a room that afternoon after checking out to allow me to finish my work there before I then captured a later train that evening. The staff are all very nice and the resort itself is tranquil and beautiful. I hope to one day come back, stay here again, and see Kyoto in more depth than I had the chance to for this trip.

Not on par with other Aman or other nice hotel in Kyoto. While still good, not great service for Japan and not the Aman standard. The real issue is the facility, While I am use to see beautiful landscape in every hotel in Kyoto Aman Kyoto is the only one with bamboo wall really disappointing. The onsen is probably the worst I did in Japan not well maintained with an old feeling and even do it was empty it was not as cleaned as I expected. you hear the noise of the pump or ac so not so relaxing. as of April 2025 there is noisy construction on property while the hotel is still open.
