Amankila Beachclub offers a different kind of experience in Bali — serene, exclusive, and undeniably highend. Nestled by the beach in Karangasem, this place stuns with its breathtaking views. Beautiful is an understatement when describing the villa area, the massive infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and the elegant design of the entire property. It's a perfect escape if you're looking to relax in a peaceful, less crowded part of Bali. The staff provided amazing service from the whole team — everyone was kind, welcoming, and professional throughout our visit. It really added to the overall experience and made us feel well taken care of. However, be prepared for a high price tag. There's a minimum purchase of Rp600.000 per person (before tax), and while the setting is undeniably luxurious, the food sadly didn’t match the standard. The restaurant has a wide selection on the menu, but the dishes we tried, especially the Mac & Cheese and Carbonara, were underwhelming. For the price, we expected much more refined flavors and better execution. Still, if you're coming for the view, the ambiance, and the calm, Amankila delivers on that front. Just don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to the food.
Deeply Disappointed – Definitely Not Worth €2,500 a Night I honestly don’t even know where to start. I was really looking forward to staying at Amankila and had high expectations, especially considering the price — €2,500 per night for a villa with a private pool. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below what I imagined, and I would never recommend it to anyone expecting true luxury. First of all, the service was shockingly poor. Our room wasn’t cleaned for two full days. We had to call the front desk multiple times just to ask for basic housekeeping. For a resort of this supposed standard, that’s completely unacceptable. There was zero attention to detail, and we constantly felt like we were asking for things that should’ve been automatic. The food was another letdown. It was average at best — not bad, but certainly nothing memorable. Definitely not the kind of cuisine you’d expect from a luxury resort at this price. Limited variety, bland flavors, and small portions. We ended up dining outside the resort several times just to enjoy a proper meal. As for the villa itself, it was… okay. The view was beautiful, but the interiors were tired and in need of renovation. For €2,500 a night, I expected much more – something modern, spotless, and meticulously maintained. Instead, it felt outdated and neglected in places. Overall, Amankila just didn’t deliver. It felt like we paid for the name, not the experience. I’ve stayed in far better places for half the price. This was, sadly, a huge waste of money.
Extremely Disappointed – Definitely Not Worth the Price I had very high expectations for Amankila, but unfortunately, this resort turned out to be a major disappointment on many levels. First of all, I found a snake in my room. Yes, a real snake. It was terrifying, especially considering the price and “luxury” level the resort claims to offer. It took staff far too long to respond, and I felt completely unsafe for the rest of my stay. The room itself was old, dirty, and smelled musty. Everything looked worn down and not maintained at all. It felt more like a forgotten guesthouse than a 5-star resort. The food was average at best – repetitive, bland, and nowhere near the standard you’d expect at this price point. Nothing was memorable, and in some cases it even arrived lukewarm. The beach was a huge letdown – narrow, rocky, and very basic. It’s far from the dreamy Bali beach experience you might be imagining. The facilities near the beach were also minimal and unimpressive. One of the biggest issues was the layout of the resort. The villas are located very far from both the beach and the main pool, and getting anywhere requires walking up and down countless steep stairs. As a parent with a small child, this was exhausting. And what shocked me most: there is no shuttle or buggy service to help guests move around – completely unacceptable for a place that charges this much. Overall, Amankila is massively overpriced and overrated. It might have been impressive 20 years ago, but it hasn’t aged well, and the level of service doesn’t even come close to what one should expect. I regret choosing this place and definitely would not return.
