Ambasciatori Palace

The hotel is / has been pretty grand at some point, with large public rooms with chandeliers. From the outside it looks a little jaded but inside it is well maintained. It has lifts to all floors, but you would struggle to fit a wheelchair through the doors. It has a bar and a restaurant which are ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. It has a pool on the roof, which is good according to my family. Montecatini Terme where the hotel is located is a bit run down; apparently it is mainly hotels used for stop overs by tour companies, which seems about right. I wouldn't want to base my holidays in the town. For me, this is what drags the hotel down the most.

RUDE STAFF !!! The Room was lovely and so was the Bathroom. The Hotel is clean. The Rooftop Pool is a welcome relief from the Heat with amazing views. BUT.......the Staff need a big customer service education!!! COMPLAINT ABOUT HOTEL RECEPTION FEMALE STAFF MEMBER !!! We did a Cosmos Tour departing Rome 9th June 2024. We were at this Hotel for 2 nights. There was no Jug for hot water in the room so I asked Reception who said I was welcome to ask the Bar anytime for Hot Water. On our 2nd night we had a Dinner and I asked the Waitress for Hot Water to make my own cup of Tea and she said it was impossible. She went to the Reception and spoke to another woman (blonde hair) who stormed in and told me if we wanted Hot Water she would be charging us 3 Euro's for a cup of Hot Water. RUDE and RIPOFF.

Lovely decorated room and a good sized bed for me and my wife to sleep in, but I did have personal issues.. the ensuite bathroom was nice and clean and was a fair size however no bath. Something both my wife and I were looking forward to after a two day bus journey from the UK. It only had a fixed shower and cubicle that i was unable to get into. Being a big man i wasn't able to fit myself inside the small sliding door to have a shower, quite important in 30+ degree heat. I ended up having to wash and sponge down at the sink. A bit embarrassing but an incentive to lose weight i guess.... Breakfast wasn't a pleasurable experience. A help yourself free for all which was chaotic when the dining room was full of guests queuing up for coffees at a machine and no food left. Ended up with slice of cake 😔 could have waited for the lovely friendly catering staff to replenish bit hard work when you only had an allowed time to get on a coach to go on an excursion. Dinners on a night were ok and attempted to accommodate my wife as vegetarian but it was just a set menu with no choices and you had to buy drinks even a glass of water!. Although it appeared to be a lovely hotel I don't think I will be going back again.
