A place you must visit A beautiful spot with an amazing beach view, where you can see baby turtles before they are released into the wild. The breakfast and grilled seafood at night are excellent. The sangria and Aperol spritz here are perfect to complete your day. 100% recommended, and I will definitely come back again.

If you're looking for pure escapism, then the Amber Lombok Resort won't fail. We recently stayed here for 10 days whilst exploring this stunning and largely untouched region boasting palm fringed blue lagoons backed by a spectacular landscape of steep hills and working rice fields. We booked one of their 1-bedroom apartments boasting spacious rooms including a lounge, kitchenette and large bathroom with 2 basins. We didn't cook as obtaining fresh food is a challenge with the nearest supermarket around 15 mins away by scooter. However, the rooms were extremely comfortable and their cleaning staff were excellent. The resort itself is minimalist and bijou. It has one pool and one restaurant both directly overlooking the lagoon. The pool could be bigger especially when the hotel is full with kids running around and if I was the owner, I would consider building a separate kids pool. The beach is stunning and you can walk its entirety without seeing anyone The Amber restaurant has a really nice balance of seating areas suited to match whatever mood you're in whether it's just dining or relaxing with a cocktail. For sunset time, their friendly staff move large bean bags onto the beach where you may be treated to live music which they offer at least 3 times a week. Beware that waiting times can vary and that service is inconsistent with our order appearing to be forgotten on a couple of occasions. The menu is extensive, too extensive for my liking at the expense of quality. Some dishes were outstanding whilst others were woeful, their Chicken Rendang and Ceasar Salad in particular were disappointing. If it was down to me, I would cut the menu down and focus on quality not quantity whilst reducing pressure on kitchen staff. I also would've liked more focus on local cuisine. Chicken satay, for example, would be a welcome option and would surely sell by the bucket loads! If you have breakfast included within your package, expect it to be very simple. Although their fresh fruit and omelettes were some of the best I've ever had, I was disappointed with their cereals only offering bland corn and chocolate flakes. For me, there should be at least a nice home made muesli included as an option. For more demanding palettes, you have the option to order a range or more exotic options including avocado and salmon on sourdough, which they do well. It's worth noting that this is an up and coming part of Lombok evident by various ongoing developments so if you're looking to invest, then the Amber Resort makes the perfect base for exploring the area. Get yourself a scooter and head to lovely Selong Belanak for some chilled beach time and lunch in one of several Warungs (small local restaurants). Head left out of Amber into the hills for a more rugged adventure where you will experience totally untouched local life, this really is a stunning part of the world. Thank you Amber Resort for a lovely stay, we will be back :-)

We visited Amber Hotel at Torok Beach in Lombok with a group of 9 people, including 5 children. We were nearby and simply wanted to have a meal there. To our surprise, we were completely denied entry – apparently just because we had children with us. It’s possible that this happened because our nanny walked ahead with the children. Even if that was the reason, it is still an absolute disgrace. We were told this “no children” policy has been in place for about a month. There was no prior warning – no mention online, no signs, nothing at all. Frankly, this policy is discriminatory, unfriendly, and shows zero consideration for families. We travel extensively and have never experienced such treatment anywhere else in the world. We left feeling shocked and deeply disappointed. If you are traveling with children, avoid this place entirely. There are many other wonderful, family-friendly spots in Lombok that will welcome you instead of turning you away at the door.
