We ate at Farm Boy Cuisine at Amberg Country Estate on the Du Toitskloof Pass. They organised a platter for us, full of meat, cheese, salads and bread. It was so fresh and so delicious. Service was very friendly and accommodating and fabulous views down to Paarl and across the the Swartland Definitely make an effort to visit
We absolutely loved our time at Amberg Country Estate! We were a group of 10 individuals on the weekend of my wedding. Everything from the beautifully appointed cottages, the location, the amazing views and scenery, the restaurant, and the incredible service we received ensured that we will be returning very soon. Helga, the owner, was an absolute gem. She was friendly, most accommodating, and made us all feel so welcome. Every room even had fresh flowers upon arrival. Amberg is definitely a hidden gem you need to visit.
Really great accomodation. We really enjoyed it. I would just advise you to be vigilant of the art that is hanging in the cottages. We booked three cottages and each of them had nude art hanging in it. So if you want to avoid awkward conversations with your kids I would advise you to double check before booking. I do realize it doesn’t bother some people but for us as well as the other two couples that was staying there with us it was quite a horrible surprise. See picture for reference.
