Amendoeira Golf Resort

Played 4 days here as a fourball. Could not fault the place, it was fantastic. Apartment was lovely, loads of space and well equipped. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was great and the breakfast spread was spectacular. Both golf courses were excellent in spite of some wet weather. 10/10 and we will definitely be back. Thank you.

Beautiful area and views of gardens and rolling greens. Peaceful area to golf, grab a drink at the clubhouse or stay overnight in one of their great apartments. Service can he slow but the views more than make up for it.

3* rooms review is due to issues with outdoor seating that had no cushions. 3 days of communication and no appropriate response for reasons which went from ‘no cushions that fit’ to ‘owner bought new set and cushions have not yet been delivered’. We have no doubt that the cushions were in the locked storage room for the terrace. Therefore we went our whole holiday with no casual seating. The resort went in to say that they only need to provide two sun beds on the terrace (2 sun beds for all 6 person duplex apartmen, and nowhere in the apartment details does it stipulate this) I would suggest you clarify with resort before booking. We did have other issues on arriving in the apartment 15 mins late as the reception was waiting confirmation from the cleaner that it was ‘ready’. On entering the apartment the middle door in the kitchen was open as it could not be closed due to a dangerous metal part sticking out (also preventing the cutlery draw from opening) the washing machine drawer was broken and just placed on top of the counter, we also had no wifi for a couple of days.The 4* review for service was based on the clubhouse service which was great until our final night when we had a waitress, that was either drunk or very forgetful, 4+ times she had to come up for our drinks order, then still forgot to bring one, messed up the food order with half the starters not turning up, and therefore ended up just cancelling them with another server as the main meals had arrived. She also messed up another tables orders, absolute horrendous and as a former server I find it hard to even say that. We did have a fantastic evening at the BBQ and entertainment evening, with an amazing singer on the 8th August. 5* for the resort itself, lovely grounds, pool, location, the only exception was the last day we went the staff had not cleared away several cigarette butts from, I can only guess the previous night along with cups and ashtray but I won’t take away a star for that. Overall I would stay again, but be cautious of clarifying what outdoor furniture was provided for the party.
