I recently stayed at the Amethyst Hotel and had a fantastic experience! The staff was super friendly and really went out of their way to help me with anything I needed. Check-in was a breeze, which was great after a long trip. I loved chilling by the pool – the comfy chairs were a nice touch. I only tried their breakfast once, but the egg station was pretty cool. They also have a small but decent gym, which was perfect for a quick workout. The hotel's location is awesome; you've got everything right there. Plus, it felt really safe inside, which made my stay even better. I’d definitely recommend the Amethyst Hotel if you’re looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Had a truly wonderful stay at Amethyst hotel. These are my honest opinions. The staff are wonderful. I never expect people to be able to speak English when I travel to countries where English is not their language, but it was not an issue here. Even employees who did not know much English went out of their way to try, and to communicate. It was very sweet. The rooms are modern, large, bright, and comfortable, with nice touches, like USB charging ports and universal power sockets. Our room showed some wear and tear but overall was well maintained. The bed was enormous and so comfortable. We wished we could have taken it with us. The laundry service is pricier than other Thai hotels we stayed in, and is on the upper side of reasonable. But our clothes were handled with care (no shrinkage), pressed well, and available without issue the next day. The restaurant and room service menu is a little hit and miss. Had a wonderful burger and a decent steak there, but I feel the Thai menu has been heavily modified to Western palettes. The breakfast is ok and its main benefit is convenience. The hotel is surrounded by great places to eat, with huge variety, and a nearby seven eleven and atm will sort out snacks and money. You won’t go hungry. The onsite cafe is wonderful. The best coffee I’ve had anywhere in Asia so far, and the barista remembered both my order and room number after the first order. The concierge had the world’s biggest and most welcoming smile. He always leapt to open the door whenever we approached and gave his job 200% of his effort. We found the few times he was not there to open the door, we really missed him. Obviously we didn’t expect him to be there 24/7 but it shows the positive impact one person can make to the hotel experience. The rooftop bar was a nice place to relax and have a drink, while looking out over Pattaya and the water. Drinks were reasonably priced, and the space had a chilled vibe. The gym was spacious and really well equipped for a hotel. If you are after affordable luxury, stay here. It is well placed for the price, especially if you find it at a small discount.
I paid for 2 weeks upfront and stayed for 3 of the nights. Why you ask? That’s a great question! I ordered food and they said I could not eat it in the lobby or by the pool. There are no polices shown anywhere. I was so annoyed I ate outside on the steps of the front of the hotel and called another place to stay. They did not refund the 11 nights I did not use. This hotel is also in the middle of a rough area where it appears child sex workers are coming in and out of the hotel.
