Amethyst Resort Passikudah

We recently stayed at this hotel with my sister and her family, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The beach was fantastic—clean, child-friendly, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Our rooms were spotless and quiet, making it easy to unwind. Breakfast was served as a buffet, while lunch and dinner were set menus, which is understandable given that it was the off-season with fewer guests. That said, the food was excellent, and every meal was prepared with care and attention to detail. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were warm and attentive throughout our stay, but a special mention must go to the manager, Mr. Samantha. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, ensuring all our needs were met—especially when it came to accommodating food allergies in our group. He was incredibly proactive and thoughtful, even offering to pack us lunch on our day of departure since we had a late breakfast and didn’t need another meal so soon after. I’ve stayed at many hotels, but the level of service and genuine hospitality here was truly top-notch. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and peaceful family getaway. Really nice restaurant manager and chef; the location was perfect for what we needed. On multiple occasions we were offered to walk around the property to try and see crocodiles which we really enjoyed. The pool was a right next to the beach so you could go between them easily

We had a sea view room that opens directly to the beach which was nice to wake up to. The prices for food and beverage were fair. The service, particularly in the restaurant was well above the norm, and appreciated. Prices in Passikudah can be higher than elsewhere in Sri Lanka but I think the room charges should be much lower compared to what you can get next door either way.
