A HOME A WAY FROM HOME Recently stayed 2 weeks at the brilliant family hotel ... What can I say it was like a home away from home .. The staff were absolutely amazing from the kitchen to the cleaning and every where in between, do happy and helpful we were truly sad to leave to return home a first for us on holiday Upon arrival which was around 11pm we were treated by happy staff who offered us some local liqueur that tasted like Christmas Once a week normally a Friday ( though it may change ) they host greek night Which is not to be missed a great buffet full of greek food to try with greek music and dancing ( don't be shy join in they show you the moves and is lots of Fun ) They also have three interesting cats , who we found funny and entertaining especially the little cannelloni who is just a kitten a little of your breakfast leaves them eternally happy Of all the hotels we have been to this one shares a special place on our heart and if only for this reason alone we would definitely return to Zakynthos

We stayed here the first two weeks of May and the Hotel was very quiet, there were only four other couples staying here. The apartments are really tired and desperately need updating, but they are spotlessly clean and are cleaned everyday. The staff are all very friendly and will do anything to help. There are plenty of sunbeds and brollies around the pool and a large garden area with beds and brollies. The garden was our favorite area, lot's of wildlife to see, swallows, lot's of common garden birds and the odd reptile. There were a lot of young birds hatching while we were there and wonderful to watch them growing up, watching the parents teaching them to fly. We had breakfast included in our stay and it was fine, a little repetitive, but ncie and plenty of it. The evening meals are nice but very pricy. Cats are a problem in the dining area, they climb on the tables and try to grab food from your plate, the staff will deal with them, but they are a nuisance. The location of the hotel is just over a mile from Kalamaki. There are plenty of bars and restaurants in the town. The food available is a bit samey, but they were all very nice. Dafni’s restaurant was one of our favorites and Milos. The walk into is fine during daylight, but at night a bit scary. There are no footpaths along the road or any street lighting. There are a couple of blind bends, that are dangerous. A taxi from Kalamaki to the hotel is eight euro's which for a mile is expensive, but the price of everything is expensive, food and drinks. Supermarket Christos is only a five minute walk and they are great, if you can't see something you need, just ask and they'll have it somewhere. Bake & coffees is a great place for a quick snack or a beer. We had a really nice time and the Greek people were wonderful, so friendly and helpful
