We have had a fantastic stay, there's so much to do and the town around is lovely. So happy with the friendless of the staff and they were all very helpful and efficient. Sometimes difficult to get a sunbed around the pool and would be nice if sunbeds on the beach were included or discounted, we also would have enjoyed if prosecco was all-inclusive. Thank you to you all for a wonderful week.
Unfortunately, our experience was not as good as the positive evaluations describe. It was beautiful and it looks like on the pictures. Nevertheless, our room was very small and we needed to put our stuff on the floor. The air conditioning was not working properly and only after 2 times asking, some technician came to fix it. The hotel is directly at a street and the restaurant in which you have breakfast and dinner is directly at the street as well. So you see and hear the traffic a lot. The bar in the evening is also directly at the street and external guests were allowed. The coffee during breakfast was not drinkable, the food was okay. We were aware that we needed to pay for the sunbeds on the beach. Even though the hotel is adults only, the beach is not. All in all, there were too many points which we expected differently, why we were disappointed by the hotel.
Review: Ananea Hotel Kos – Zen in photos, chaos in reality From the photos, you’d think you’re heading into a tranquil, Ayurvedic retreat – minimalist elegance, calming vibes, the whole “find yourself” aesthetic. In reality? Think budget roadside pension that accidentally wandered into a four-star category. I politely asked at check-in if it was possible to get a decent room. The answer was a very clear “no,” just wrapped in a customer service smile. The toilet seat lovingly slams into my back every time I sit down, and the showerhead seems determined to water everything except me. Maybe it’s some new kind of Greek hydrotherapy? Breakfast is standard – the same buffet you’ve seen everywhere. But if you’re gluten-free? Good luck. Tonight’s “dinner option” was two frozen bags of gluten-free bread handed to me directly from the freezer. Frostbite chic. And yes, you’re asked to list your intolerances when checking in – apparently just for decoration. To be fair: drinks at the bar were decent and one kind waitress deserves a medal for effort. But if you want to order anything later in the evening, prepare to physically intercept the waiters like it’s a team sport. Even with only a few tables occupied, service is… let’s say, meditative. Very, very slow meditation. In short? Don’t fall for the dreamy boho Instagram vibes. The reality is far less serene – and much more uncomfortable. For the price, I expected at least basic comfort, not a chicly packaged budget experience. Would not recommend – unless you’re working on your karma.
