Anastasio Hotel & Beach Club

Great location and beach. No beach views from the hotel room but a nice country feel looking out the back porch. Guest services are really nice and prompt. Nice pool and jacuzzi if your into that. We just rather hit the beach everyday. The waves were sort of rough so be careful out there. Plenty of lifeguards letting you know if you go to far out. Bartender was nice and knowledgeable and poured us a nice Grappuy drink. The included breakfast was croissants, cereal some breads and milk coffee and oj. But you can order eggs done your way.

One of the best hotel experience I ever had. The rooms, although medium size, are beautiful, clean and comfortable. Location is superb: close to the beach, easy access from the main road, plenty of parking and few blocks from the city center. Breakfast was delicious, with pastries that you can't stop eating. Personnel is super nice, always trying to help. Maite' is one if the best desk managers I had the pleasure to meet. Bottom line...very recommended

Hotel Anastasio is a lovely hotel located steps from the beach (Brava side). The view to the water from the room I stayed in (Villa 2, Room 6) is across the dunes - see photos - and the sound of the waves is just magic! The hotel is located in a serene, small, private development that has both residential houses and the hotel/club. The rooms are very pleasant - not huge, but definitely large enough, given you will probably spend more time at the beach or by the pool than in the room. Mine, anyway, is reminiscent of a bedroom at a friend's upscale beach house. The bathroom is well appointed, which is always nice. Amenities include a small balcony, mini-refrigerator, a kettle for heating water, and a security safe for passports, etc. Beach towels are provided at the front desk Overall, Hotel Anastaso has a relaxed, clubby vibe. No pretensions, just mellowness. As far as common areas go, there is a large pool (for guests only), a smaller pool for children, a play area with a ping pong table, and a restaurant (open to the public). Also, they light the fire pit at night! The manager, Andréa, is super nice, very helpful, and welcoming. Pets are welcome, but ask before assuming! A great place to stay in José, especially for a family. Bonus: Parador La Huella, the most famous restaurant in Uruguay, and perenially one of the Top 50 restaurants in Latin America, is a short 5-minute walk away along the beach. You would be hard pressed to beat the combination of quality, location, and atmosphere at the price. Highly recommended!
