Our stay at Hotel Ancasa near Chinatown was a delightful experience that perfectly blended comfort, hospitality, and convenience. We booked a double cart room, which was well-maintained and thoughtfully arranged. Everything from the bedding to the cleanliness of the washrooms reflected the hotel’s commitment to high standards. But what truly stood out was the behavior and attitude of the staff. Every employee we encountered greeted us with a warm smile, whether it was early morning or late at night. It wasn’t just a formality—they genuinely seemed happy to see guests, and that kind of positive energy adds immense value to a stay. In fact, their friendliness was so contagious that we found ourselves instinctively wishing them back with a smile. Full credit goes to the hotel management and staff for creating such a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was another highlight. The buffet had an impressive mix of Indian, Malay, and Continental options, catering to a diverse range of palates. The food was delicious, fresh, and neatly presented. What made it even more special was the presence of the chef, who personally came out at intervals to interact with guests and gather feedback—a rare gesture that showed genuine commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Location-wise, the hotel is excellent. It’s just a two-minute walk to the Chinatown open market, making it ideal for shoppers and food lovers. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it a very practical place to stay. Hotel Ancasa delivers a wonderful stay, and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Went to the Saffron buffet with family to celebrate one of our family member's birthday, they provide special cake for birthday foc. The price is affordable and worth it considering the variety type of foods. Taste wise, the foods is just okay, the gearbox soup is delicious, grill lamb is not consistent, first batch was cold, when they refill its just nice, the third batch was too greasy and undercooked, the sushi rice tasted like plain undercooked rice. Other foods were okay.
We spent 20 minutes checking in with three different receptionists. First, they started helping us at the desk, then sent us to the self check-in machine, which didn’t work. So we went back to the desk, finally got a room—but they got the number of nights wrong. We waited another 10 minutes to get the correct key. The room was nothing like what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel: The bathroom was old and smelled like sewage, The shower was tiny with a curtain, Pillowcases were dirty, The room was not soundproof at all—we could hear street noise and guests from upstairs and nearby rooms, And everything was covered in old carpet. The only positives were the location and the pool with a nice view of Merdeka 118. There are definitely better hotels in the same category. Avoid this one unless they renovate the rooms.
