Reading through some of the reviews...probably an overexaggeration because my visit was nothing like this! Rooms were super clean and the atmosphere was very comfortable. There is a game room at the bottom, which I thought was very neat. Very comfortable 7-day stay, with lots of great scenary around. Recommend to anyone thinking to stay in/around the Sutton area!!!

Sadly now only a holiday home rental for large family groups. This used to be a great, characterful pub and restaurant. A lamentable loss to the community. *Only the last paragraph of this old review now applies. Old review ; Great food, good beer, a very good wine list, attentive & genuinely friendly staff, gorgeous old historic building. There is a cosy atmosphere with a lovely log fire burner in winter. The best of British heritage mid-price dining, wonderful Sunday roasts or just a beer after a brisk walk in the fens nearby. Fantastic position on the bank of a river. No views from inside the building due to the embankment ( apart from the b&b rooms upstairs ) but a tiny walk outside just a few yards gives a wonderful view which in the winter is just amazing with the controlled flooded areas looking like an inland sea. Teeming with wildlife. An unforgettable sight. Truly. Local people work here and the food is also sourced as locally as possible. The only minus points are that the seating is a bit uncomfortable and that the once wonderful interior inglenook fireplace has been repurposed as a ( somewhat cramped ) seating area. Hence 4 🌟 instead of 5. Rating *Also, the B&B's room decoration does not reflect the historical building and the rooms are of blandly modern interior design, though functional and clean*

Cobwebs and spider everywhere Not been clean in weeks hot tub was going green on 2 day beds where not clean properly fridge's not been clean the floor was dirty not been cleaned died plants everywhere and the dust was really bad and roof tiles were falling of the roof on the building next door the garden was a mess i am not staying here again we started on the 18/07/2025 for 7 night
