A very little old style hotel at the top of old Ankara
A well preserved hotel with a traditional architecture in a very picturesque village.
We arrived at the hotel at 2pm after a long night on the sleeper train. Despite their website saying that we could check-in after 1pm, there was no-one at the hotel - the doors were locked. We stood outside in the rain for an half an hour while a police officer called the hotel owner. When he arrived he was grumpy and unapologetic - almost as if our arrival had caused him an inconvenience. The room itself was perfectly nice and had character. However, when we arrived, it was as if it hadn’t been used in a while - everything was turned off, including the water pump for the toilet flush. Slightly inconveniently, the kitchen attached to the room did not have any glasses, crockery or a kettle and the side light next to the bed didn’t work. The smell of drains strongly emanated from the sink in the kitchen adjoining the room. The breakfast in the morning was mediocre. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel - it is expensive for what it is while the service lacked professionalism.
