Our 5-night stay in early July was fantastic. The reception team is excellent and we had a seamless arrival. We were able to check in, learn about the hotel and drop our bags in 15 minutes. We were impressed by the warmth and friendliness from everyone we encountered during our and are really eager to return. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast spread is impressive and the gym is top-of-the-line. I need to give a special shoutout to Lucho, who went out of his way over the course of multiple days to make conversation with my dad, who was a first-time visitor to Mexico City and a bit unsure about exploring on his own. I didn't realize the extent of this until I checked out after my dad and Lucho told me about all of their little conversations. It was so genuine and kind- thank you Lucho!
We just spent 7 nights at the Andaz Condesa and I can confidently say we do not want to stay anywhere else in Mexico City moving forward. The staff were excellent, always so friendly and helpful, and the cleaning staff did an amazing job keeping everything spotless. The location is absolutely perfect. You can walk to almost everything, and we did about 99 percent of the time. If you need to go further, Ubers are very affordable. Since I booked through Chase Sapphire points, we were upgraded for free to a 10th-floor room, which had a lovely view. The king-sized bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and spacious. The only odd detail was that the bathroom door opens directly into the toilet. If you are visiting during the rainy season like we did, you might notice there are not many places to hang wet jackets, swimsuits or clothing to dry. The room itself had some great touches. The TV has a casting option so we were able to stream Netflix from our phones, which we used every night. The pool is on the smaller side, but perfect for spending a couple of hours relaxing, and the staff at Cabuya were attentive and brought us drinks poolside. Breakfast at Portofino downstairs was included with my Chase package and we liked it. The staff there were so kind and welcoming every morning. The food was average, occasionally below average, but the selection was huge. They had an egg station, a quesadilla station, lots of breads, sausages, bacon, vegan options, yogurts, fresh fruits, juices, and more. My favorites every day were the oatmeal and the coconut milk chia pudding, which paired so well with the fresh fruit. The coffee, however, was not very good, so I recommend sticking with the juices. We did skip breakfast one day to eat at Mendl, which I highly recommend if you want to try something outside the hotel. There were a few drawbacks. The rooms have very bright lights at night from various sources. The air conditioning has a green light, the fire escape signs had two bright flashing green lights, and the doorbell gave off a strong red, blue, or white glow. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring something to cover these or an eye mask. One night, there was very loud construction at 1 a.m. that I had to call and ask them to stop. We also experienced construction noise during the day while we were at the pool. Despite these minor issues, I still rate the Andaz Condesa 5 out of 5. The positives far outweighed the negatives. I especially loved the matcha café downstairs, which had an incredible atmosphere for working or relaxing. While the drinks were below average in flavor, the vibe was truly a 10 out of 10. This was our second time in Mexico City, and the Andaz Condesa has made such a strong impression that I do not see us staying anywhere else in the future. If you're okay with your hotel not having a bunch of awesome restaurants like Vegas (and you shouldn't - DF has so much good food, you shouldn't be wasting time eating at the hotel!) I absolutely recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back!
Near lots great restaurants. Great coffee machine in room. While room had nice style and character and was uplifting with purple colors. Breakfast buffet lots of choices. They have a bar where you can bring pets called wooftop.
