Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort a concept by Hyatt

At 950 a night (including taxes valet and resort fee) in August this place is pricey, probably the most I’ve ever spent on a hotel, but I will say we had zero complaints for a 2 night stay. We were upgraded from a partial ocean view to full ocean view through Explorist status, which was very nice. The property is smaller than many of the surrounding grander hotels in the area, but we appreciated the calmness. And while there were still kids, it was more couple and small group/family oriented compared to others. The movie nights and pool bingo events also bring a fun atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, valet is required but fairly responsive. The multi level pool area was very nice, but there’s too many paid cabanas for such an already expensive hotel. The beach setup is super convenient with chairs, umbrellas, and dedicated staff. The king room is not super large but plenty of space for two, and the ocean view from the extra large shower was a nice touch. If we came back it would probably be with points, or just use a condo. Unfortunately the insane rise in hotel prices are an island wide problem so not docking the hotel for that. We did visit a bar at the Grand Wailea and based on our short time there and seeing the massive property, I just cannot imagine you get treated nearly as specialized or catered to as you would at the Andaz, not to mention GW is even MORE expensive.

Couldn’t have been more pleased. I think my wife day dreams of going back all the time! The report is picturesque, modern, and on an amazing beach. Staff was incredible, all the time. The brunch was spot on with many options. Would not want to stay anywhere else, one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed in!

From the moment we arrived, the welcoming atmosphere made us feel truly special. The resort is incredibly luxurious, but what stood out the most to me was the beautiful tropical-inspired room design — especially the bathroom, which felt like a serene spa retreat. The multiple pools are absolutely stunning, and the private beach right next to the resort made it so easy for our kids to enjoy the water safely. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary water activities — we loved paddleboarding and taking out a small kayak to see sea turtles up close. We also attended the Luau dinner at the resort, where we enjoyed a delicious Hawaiian feast while watching traditional music and hula performances — such a unique and fun cultural experience! The on-site restaurants were fantastic, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve ever had. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, friendly, and helpful, making our experience even more memorable. Our trip to Maui was truly unforgettable, and Andaz played a big part in that. We can’t wait to return next summer — this is definitely where we’ll stay again.
