The location was perfect for sightseeing in Xintiandi, and the egg tarts sold in the hotel were so delicious that I ate them every day during my 4-night stay. The water pressure for the shower and bathtub was strong, making it a great place to relax and work. It was cozy, clean, and the housekeeping was very satisfactory. I’d definitely love to visit this recommended hotel in Shanghai again!

Doesn’t feel like a five star hotel. The check in counter is kiosk machine with staff assistance, which feels like a motel. No lobby sitting area with couches, guests have to stand or walk around when waiting for services or taxis. Room is ok, I love the hardwood floor and bathroom, but other than that, everything is very standard. Location is great, close to metro and shopping/restaurant.

We stayed at the Andaz Shanghai Hotel for four days. The hotel's location is truly sensational, offering plenty of sightseeing, dining, and shopping opportunities within walking distance. The service and staff are at a five-star level, meeting expectations. However, the hotel is starting to show its age, and urgent renovation work is needed in many areas. The rooms are equipped with the latest technology, but the furniture shows extreme signs of wear and tear. Additionally, the smell in the rooms is quite unpleasant. Another downside is that the air conditioning is very loud and disruptive. On the positive side, the views from the upper floors are excellent. The fitness and pool areas are also in need of renovation. While the pool with its glass edge looks stylish, it appears quite dirty and unhygienic. The entire pool area feels uninviting and lacks seating or lounging options. Breakfast, however, is very extensive and of high quality. The dining area is also beautifully designed and inviting. Overall, the Andaz could be a solid five-star hotel, but the condition of the rooms is a major downside.
