Pictures of meals speak for themselves, exceptionally good. With particularly attentive service. Rooms are neat and clean; they look bigger in the picture than they are in reality. We got the five-course menu with half portions, which we found particularly pleasant, considering the late hour of dining.

We had the pleasure of hosting a corporate event with around 30 people at the Angvik Hotel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and the front desk staff was incredibly helpful. Check-in was quick and effortless – a perfect start! The hotel itself is stunningly well-maintained and impeccably clean. The rooms are modern and purposefully designed without TVs, which we found refreshing. With such breathtaking views, a TV is simply unnecessary. I particularly want to highlight the amazing Svane beds – they provide a level of comfort that’s hard to match. The spa area was another standout feature. The Turkish steam bath, sauna, and especially the pool overlooking the fjord were simply fantastic! Everything was spotless, well-kept, and beautifully designed, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. Dinner was a remarkable 5-course menu, skillfully prepared by the talented kitchen team. Each dish was a delight, and the wine selection paired perfectly with the meal. A big shoutout to the chefs for their outstanding work! The waitstaff was attentive and friendly, and the bartenders did an excellent job as well. In conclusion, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Angvik Hotel. You did an amazing job and made our stay an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be back! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We drove over 450 kilometers to spend a few days at Hotel Angvik Gamle Handelssted because of its beautiful location by the fjord and its upscale cuisine offering a multi-course menu in the evening. Since we have a small, affectionate poodle, we inquired in advance if bringing our dog was allowed, which was confirmed without reservation. We specifically asked, although pets are generally allowed according to booking platforms. However, upon arrival, we were assigned a room above the kitchen in the old building; we only saw the parking lot and heard the kitchen music until midnight. The room smelled musty and resembled more of a broom closet. It was very dark, with noticeable wear and tear on the walls and furniture. Instead of the advertised fjord view, we had it in the bathroom because the shower door seal didn't work, causing water to flood the bathroom floor. When we requested a room upgrade, we were told it wasn't possible due to the dog. We couldn't even upgrade to a junior suite at our own expense. Thus, we were forced to stay in this dark and musty room, which was completely unacceptable. Despite asking multiple times for a different solution, we were always put off. The next day, we approached the reception again and pointed out that another part of the hotel accommodated a couple with a large dog in a fjord-view room. We couldn't understand why we couldn't have a similar room. We were then informed that this couple had smuggled their dog into the hotel, which we found very peculiar since pets are allowed according to booking platforms. We were then told we could enjoy the view from the lobby or consider leaving the dog in a crate in the hotel's own museum as an alternative. In the morning, we left the hotel and will never return to this place again. One night in this hotel was more than enough. The hotel room was an absolute horror. It smelled musty and resembled a broom closet. We couldn't even place our suitcases. The room was very small and cramped. Furthermore, other guests were discredited because they were alleged to have smuggled their dog into the hotel. Such behavior is unacceptable. Regardless of what type of dog you bring, you will only be assigned the worst rooms the hotel has, for which you will still pay the same amount as guests in other rooms. In the end, an extra charge is even imposed. However, this extra charge was then at least read out to us for courtesy. For the evening meal, breakfast, and service, we had hoped for more. We are very disappointed and cannot recommend this hotel.
