AVOID THIS PLACE ! Me and my friend stayed here one moth ago. This place should not even be legal. None of the photos matched the place they gave us. The hotel was empty, the room was a basement, no windows, smell of tobacco, no space. A mini fridge, only a bed and cold room. The wifi never worked inside the room. Thank god we stayed only one night.

We made a reservation via Hotels.com for July 7–10, 2025. Before finalizing the booking, we contacted the property directly through acquaintances who had recently stayed there. The owner strongly encouraged us to book quickly, saying it was a special discounted rate we shouldn’t miss. Based on that suggestion, we completed the booking. However, upon arrival, we were absolutely shocked by the room they offered us. It was essentially a windowless, airless storage room located under a staircase — likely a former laundry or storage closet. They presented it to us as our room, accompanied by a fake smile. The space barely fit a double bed and had no resemblance whatsoever to the photos shown on Hotels.com. It was clear that no reasonable person would consider this a habitable room, let alone a hotel room suitable for guests. We immediately expressed that we couldn’t stay in such a place and asked if we could pay the difference for another room. They claimed there were no available rooms. However, the “Vacancy” sign still hanging outside contradicted that. They clearly expected us to believe a lie. We then requested to cancel the reservation. They told us, “Cancel through the site and we’ll approve it.” So we did. But soon after, the owner shamelessly said, “You used the room today,” even though we were only in the room for 5 minutes to look at it before deciding to leave. We then found another accommodation right next door and stayed there instead. This establishment clearly lacks the basic conditions for guest accommodation and violates even the most fundamental standards of safety, hygiene, and decency. The fact that they attempted to sell this space as a hotel room is both unethical and outrageous. We demand a full refund and are prepared to escalate this matter through all appropriate channels, including consumer rights platforms, government complaint systems like CİMER (the Presidential Communication Center in Turkey), and relevant review websites. In a tourist-friendly area like Akyaka, where there are dozens of respectable hotels and apartments, this should be your absolute last choice. We sincerely hope reviews like this help end such exploitative practices.
