Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest

The front desk staff was excellent. Friendly, efficient, and very welcoming. Unfortunately, the bar and kitchen service did not measure up. The bartender/server seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, and clearly needed help. The kitchen also appeared to be severely understaffed since it took almost 30 minutes just to get chips, salsa, and guacamole. The parking situation was frustrating. Having to swipe a key card just to exit the lot felt unnecessary and inconvenient. It may be a response to past security issues in the area. The room was perfectly fine and the view was absolutely beautiful. That was definitely a highlight of the stay.

Nice venue. Clean. Friendly and helpful. Rooms need some updating. Update 7/16/25: changed my review. I've had to spend 15-20 minutes each night having the front desk and engineering reprogram by door key to accept my mobile key. it worked yesterday; it did not work today. the shower leaks. the cook at lunch cannot follow prep instructions to not put seasoning on vegetables.

I came here for a week of training. They have a disco blasting outside my room from another event. The staff admits there have been numerous complaints, apologizes and refuses to do anything about. It is after11:00 pm and it is still going on. The staff lied to me to my face about it ending around 11:00pm and they assured me it was just for that night. The next night it was the same again. After speaking to a manager I was offered a set of earplugs and one free breakfast. He promised to speak to them, which never happened. I was told what they thought i wanted to hear instead of the truth. If the noise came from airplanes or trains I would understand the earplugs. They had control over the events and allowable sound levels. If Marriot had ethics they would have refunded the cost of the room for both these nights. We have very large group of 1,700 professionals from across the nation in Ypsilanti for an annual event. One day they would have coffee by the front desk for us before we left at 6:30am for meetings. Another day nothing at all. The only consistency in service was inconsistency. It's a $200 room that doesn't even have a microwave. The water in the room is $6, $30.00 a day to park your car. Plan on $26.50 for a continental breakfast and they expect a tip. 15 minutes to eat and 20 more minutes for them to process the credit card. The free continental breakfasts at other hotels have been almost equal to this one. Here it is a one shot deal. At least when I go to another hotel I get what I expect. There were two redeeming things. The maids for cleaning the rooms were amazing and the front desk allowed us to store our suitcases with them after we checked out so we could return after our morning sessions to pick them up. Sadly, this could have been a 5 star experience with minor changes and if they had built the event area with a bit of soundproofing or if they limited the volume after 10:00pm
