Back from a fabulous week in Tavira staying at the Maria Nove Lounge. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel. Beautiful clean and modern rooms. The pool is beautiful and the pool bar has a great celebration of beers, ciders and cocktails. We went to the roof top bar a couple of nights and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Try the frozen margarita delicious! Breakfast is lovely with a wide collection of options. Although we missed our welcome drink to the hotel but were kindly gifted a bottle of wine after our stay! This holiday was one to remember and the team and Maria Nova have contributed to our wonderful holiday.

The hotel is generally good. The main areas are clean and spacious. Our room on the 3rd floor was cleaned daily, fresh towels every day & the bed changed once in 11 nights. The aircon in the rooms works great. Providing a nice cool down after a long hot day. The pool area is very chilled. Just what we were looking for. However the area could do with some TLC. Walls are flaking, the smaller of the pools didn't look too inviting on a few occasions. The swim up pool bar closed (looks like for good) . We never had a problem getting sun beds or shade when needed. You just have to move beds around. The breakfast was ok. The main issue seemed to be if you arrived after 9.40/45 they didn't always replenish everything. I get that it's a cost issue... however the fruit, breads etc were often mostly gone by 10 & didn't always get refilled. But a minor issue as there was plenty of choice. The roof top bar is a treat. Nice views and the entertainment was just about right. The staff all work super hard and are helpful throughout. The location was fine for us, however anyone with mobility issues might struggle to get up & down into the town. The streets are very narrow and cars are quite close when passing. We had some great meals out... but found we had to book the best ones (based on Google reviews & trip advisor) The gym is a little too small and opens too late (for an early bird like me) but there are some nice running routes to make up for that. Unfortunately our friends who stayed on the second floor didn't experience the same as us in terms of the room & cleanliness... they had issues with their door not working properly, the room not cleaned every day & a few oddities that I know they will review themselves. Which would mean they probably wouldn't stay again... Overall I would stay again... but only if I could be guaranteed the same room/floor & level of cleanliness etc

Just returned from a 4 day stay at this hotel. Pros - Hotel conveniently located just up a slight hill from the river and main town centre. - Staff were all super friendly, polite and helpful. - Rooms were small and basic but perfectly fine. Shower worked well. - Outdoor main swimming pool was lovely and clean and the temperature was perfect. - Breakfast was great, lots of options and well stocked. The pianist was a lovely touch. -Nomad bar was great in terms of service, food and quality and has lovely views over Tavira. Cons - Gym was quite small (if you're into the gym) - Pool bar food was ok, nothing special. - Sunbeds could do with an update. - Pillows were too soft and lumpy. NB - There is a small building site opposite the hotel which wasn't overly bothersome to be honest. The hotel had made a note of this on their website however, I booked through Booking.com and wasn't aware of this until we arrived.
