I stayed at Aparthotel Adagio Nantes Centre for two nights after finishing the Rochefort Chess Festival, as a stopover on my way to Mont Saint-Michel. I arrived quite late by train, so the hotel’s convenient location right next to the station was perfect. The check-in was quick, and the room was surprisingly spacious and functional — with a well-equipped kitchenette and a dining area that made the stay feel homey. One thing to note is that the hotel offers a sauna, which I was hoping to try, especially in the cold night. But it closes at 10PM and I arrived just after that, so I missed the chance. On the second day, I rented a car to continue my trip. The hotel provides parking, but access requires calling reception and going around the back via the small alley shown in the photos. The daily parking fee was about €20–25, which is fairly standard for city center accommodations in France. Overall, a very practical and comfortable stay — especially ideal for late arrivals and road trippers passing through Nantes.

Average aparthotel for a good price in Nantes. The location is excellent, near the train station and the city centre. The staff were very friendly. Rooms are a good size and clean but very dated with chips etc in furniture. It was nice to have a separate shower and bath although the shower leaked water onto the floor. The toilet is in a separate part of the room and the wash hand basin is in the bathroom so you have to walk through the kitchen and bedroom area to wash your hands which doesn't seem logical. The TV is on the strangest TV stand contraption and takes up way too much space in the room - we had to move the tv into the kitchen area, blocking access to the fridge, to avoid it being in the way from the toilet to the bed and bathroom. Hallway was musty with a hole in the ceiling from a leak that had never been fixed. For the price and location our stay was ok but this hotel could really do with some renovation.

I have been to adagio hotels in France and Germany. Probably this one is below average in terms of room quality and restrooms. But the service and location is fantastic. Our studio wasn’t spacious enough that we experienced in lyon and in Cologne, Germany.
