My agency mistakenly booked this hotel instead of the one in the city centre. Having visited the other one first, this one was definitely not as good, unfortunately. There is a bad smell when you first walk in - it smells like a swimming pool and damp. I know there was an issue with the spa being broken in the hotel so perhaps this is why - I’m not sure. In addition to this, we couldn’t use the spa during our time there. Staff at reception were nice and accommodating for the most part. As I booked through an agency, they said they could not move my booking to the other hotel (even though the other hotel was happy to). Not sure if they could’ve done it at their discretion or not, but it did ruin my plans as I didn’t anticipate being in this area. The surrounding area isn’t the most attractive in my opinion and it’s quite a drive away from everywhere. The room is basic but nice, but no full length mirror in any room apparently - which I think is crazy… one of the ceiling parts in the bathroom was broken and kept lifting whenever there was a breeze or the bathroom door opened, which terrified my children. For a moment I also wondered if there was someone coming in and out through the ceiling. Housekeeping is fantastic and very lovely. They do a great job. Food is nice but they do charge extra for it to be brought to your room. There’s free parking in the surrounding areas but GOOD LUCK getting a parking space! The hotel do provide a free car park but I would prefer to drive for an hour searching for a space on the road as the car park is absolutely terrifying! It is very steep and narrow. To get in is bad enough, but to get out, I literally felt my heart stop as my tyres screeched to get up that steep mountain of a drive. Whewww. Not sure how we made it out without scratching the car lol. We went in there once and never again! Thanks but no thanks!
Disappointment would be an understatement to describe the service we received and the appalling job of the cleaners. Our room was not cleaned for 2 days meaning we did not have clean towels or toiletries (I had to request and personally collect new towels and basic toiletries from the hotel lobby on 3 occasions despite only staying for 3 nights) We did not have a 'do not disturb' sign on our door and we did inform the hotel staff that our room needed attention multiple times. Secondly, after booking a superior double room, we expected to have a double bed and instead we had 2 single beds pushed together which kept moving and was extremely uncomfortable. We did inform the staff about this and were told that it would be changed but it was not! Thirdly and most horrendously, the room was not properly cleaned from the moment we arrived. We were attracted to this hotel due to the 'apartment' feel of it and the kitchen but it was filthy- not at all hotel standard not even average home standard. I was shocked to find FINGER NAILS by the sink and dirty utensils!!! This made me question the cleanliness of the sheets and everything in the room for that matter making it very uncomfortable to even lay in the bed. I personally had to go out and buy disinfectant spray for peace of mind. I have to leave this honest review as I made efforts to speak to the staff, I wrote emails and had no reply at all. I am very very unsatisfied with this hotel and will avoid it in the future.
For me as a hotel is not bad but i had to put this because of there restaurant and there unprofessional way of work and hospitality and as am a content creator i will write and talk on this situation that happened to me “I’ve been staying at this hotel and dining in the restaurant daily for a week. Today, I sat down for thirty minutes, and no one came to take my order except to bring me a drink. When I tried to order, they told me to wait because they were busy. After another five minutes of waiting, nothing changed, even though staff were right in front of me. There was a brown girl and a guy who seemed completely lost and unprofessional—they were just wandering around and not helping. It felt like no one cared about providing proper service.”
