Our stay at the Malpertuus hotel was in one word marvelous. We expected a room, but what we got was a whole apartment. The living room has a street view, while the bedroom (with a small balcony) looks out over the garden. In between is a small but well equipped bathroom, separate toilet, and a corridor where - if one so wishes - an extra bed can be placed. There is also a kitchen, equipped with a burner, a sink, a fridge, a microwave, pots, pans, plates, cups, and glasses. In short, everything one can want or need. The living room holds a table and four chairs, a cabinet, a TV, a sofa, and two very comfortable easy chairs. While no lunch or dinner is served, the breakfast is extensive. Three different kinds of break, bread rolls, cold meats, cheeses, cereal, and fruit. And should you want anything that is not on offer (such as eggs) just ask the manager and she'll whip something up. So, the room/apartment and the service is excellent. As for the location, the hotel is situated in the heart of Aalst. Steps away from the city center, steps away from the train station, steps away from anything you might need. The Malpertuus hotel truly deserves my five star review.
Extremely nice and warm welcome from the owner. Feels like staying at home. Very convenient location. In summer time it serves internal garden, has everything you need for your cosy stay in Aalst. I would definatelly recomend this apart hotel.
Rented an apartment in beginning of February. Was told the heating was broken, but I got the impression that it's just disabled to save costs. Stayed one night in a freezing cold apartment before leaving and cancelling. Was still forced to pay full price despite receiving something that was very far from what was advertised.
