Aparthotel Mariano Cubi Barcelona

I’m truly impressed by this hotel. When I made a reservation I was skeptical because of the pretty cheap stay. I was very surprised how tidy and new the hotel was! The location is a little far from the city center but still a very nice local location. The only con was that some of the reception clerks don’t know how to speak English. The breakfast was also very nice and good options also for vegetarian/kosher diet keepers.

As more mature people we have been fatigued walking to Guell Park and to the harbour. We have taken the tour bus and the location near to the Diagonal is excellent for buses and the metro. Our room was spacious and clean, the wife was annoyed at the absence of tea making facilities, however, there was a kitchenette area locked away which we could have got unlocked. The staff were all excellent from Reception to the breakfast room and the cleaners. We planned to dine out so B & B was perfect for our break.

Not worth 4 stars. Weak AC in August made the stay uncomfortable, especially with a dog. Staff admitted at check-out they knew the room’s AC was faulty. WC is right in front of the bed with a loud door and no sound privacy. Room is big but worn out—old, uncomfortable couch. View is neighbour’s building.At check-in, they made me sign a dog form only in Spanish, saying, “This is Spain.” Also charged €10/night for the dog. Parking has lift which didn’t work at our check in we had to bring our luggages from -2 with ramp. Wouldn’t recommend. The parking charged us 57 euros for 36 hours!
