Aparthotel Miramare

The hotel is clean and the rooms are big and spacious. We found the reception staff surprisingly unknowledgeable about the area. The wait staff were also rude on occasion. The location is excellent of course and are near the promenades. The pool area was very nice. I would come again but would like to see a few improvements.

Spent three enjoyable nights at this hotel, cooked food on the buffet could have been hotter. Noise from bar or nightclub on the Friday night loud.

We have been to Makarska four times, but this was by far our worst experience. We planned to stay 9 nights, but left 3 days earlier. Maybe suitable for a one-night stopover, but definitely not for a longer stay. Positive: • Reception lady was friendly and tried her best • Housekeeping staff was nice, room was cleaned well • Sauna and gym were okay Negative: • Overall unfriendly staff, non-local tourists are deliberately ignored by service staff • Hotel and rooms very old, furnishings outdated • TV fell off the wall during our stay we just managed to catch it • Wellness area outdated, almost unused, steam bath mostly broken or only about 30 °C warm • No staff present in the spa area for massages or treatments • Breakfast: some fruit served mouldy, children’s chairs extremely dirty for several days, dining staff rude and ignoring guests • Baby cot for extra charge: no mattress, only blankets over metal bars; after several complaints, finally got a mattress • Parking for €18/day: regularly blocked by tables, tools and other items, no improvement despite complaints hat to clear it ourselves each time • Very poor value for money, does not meet 4-star standards Conclusion: From a 4-star hotel, I expect a completely different standard. We are very disappointed and will not book this hotel again.
