Apartment Hotel am Rathaus

Charming place, with simple furnishings. Excellent location. The reception was difficult to reach, as it seems that they are downstairs in the restaurant, unless requested. I was only able to get spotty wifi access on the ground level... The rooms are two to five floors up. (No elevator.) They should not advertise in-room wifi. There was a kettle, but nothing else... No coffee, no cups. Odd. There were no curtains on the windows. (Mini-blinds on one, and the other was bare.) Okay place, but know what you're getting into.

I have booked two single beds but there was only one double bed and no other rooms. We had to wait for a long time outside in the cold to go in to our room The room was cold and I had a negative answer when I asked for another blanket. Rooms are good and clean but attention of the staff is a huge zero. This was my second stay but I would never stay there again

The reception was mostly closed and the staff were very difficult to reach. They wouldn't answer the phone for an hour when we were trying to drop off the luggage. Heating wasn't working properly and at some point there was no hot water. They weren't reachable by phone or text again. I only got a message back 5hrs after reporting the issue. But nobody helped me in the morning while trying to get ready for a business meeting, had to take a cold shower in the middle of winter... They offered a compensation in a form of free food from a chicken shop downstairs which opened 1.5hrs late so we didn't have time to get anything, plus the staff were rude, they said it was my problem that they weren't ready... We ended up getting vouchers for breakfast in another place which turned out to be equally bad. They took 40mins to put a few slices of cheese and ham on our plates because they were busy serving the customers who actually paid... They put us in a room of the 5th floor without a lift with a very narrow and shaky stairway to last floor. The room didn't have a sitting area with a sofa (that's what the ad said) and they provided only paper cups and tiny wooden spoons. Couldn't even make proper tea. The fridge was extremely loud, kept waking me at night. All this for 140eur per night... Extremely disappointed :(
