Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa

We had a really great stay here. It's surprisingly beautiful inside - the exterior doesn't give you that impression. The lobby, restaurant and bar area are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was exceptionally good. The service was excellent too. We had a superior room, and it was huge with loads of furnishings. It was baking hot though in the room, keep the windows open and the AC AND the fan on, unless you want to be cooked alive.

We stayed one night as a part of a tour group. The room was clean, comfortable, and well apportioned. The public areas were clean. There was adequate lift service. There was an electric receptacle near the bed (Important for CPAP users). The room also had a nice desk area - again complete with electric receptacles. The breakfast was good and offered a good variety.

The room temperature was 25 degrees although only 12 outside at night. No ac. A letter was left on the table stating that it was "Due to the rare hot weather" - it was 17 degrees outside and cloudy. Not Ok for 4 stars and that price. Very loud location at night. The pool had limited times for children, which it didn't state on the homepage. The staff was polite but service at the restaurant very slow. Waited 45 minutes for main course although the restaurant was not full. Canteen atmosphere - very loud and nor very cozy. Food was nice but too expensive for that quality. The room was clean and Ok for 4 persons to sleep only. Breakfast had very little variety and not much left on the plates when we arrived one hour before closing time. The building itself is covered in bird shit. Overall a disappointing experience and definitely not worth the money and nowhere near 4 stars.
