Appartementhaus Mövchen

For our first trip to Borkum we rented an apartment in Huus Mövchen based on a recommendation. The questions I asked Ms. Sobirey in advance were all answered directly, friendly and comprehensively, and our wishes when choosing the apartment were taken into account. The contact person on site was also very friendly and helpful. Although the apartment and the bathroom are not very spacious, they have everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The apartment is well equipped, everything is clean and a basic supply of soap, dish soap, coffee filters, dry towels and toilet paper is available. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare small meals, but it might be difficult for a three-course meal. The bed is comfortable and there was enough storage space for luggage. The bathroom furnishings are modern and functional. There is also a fast and stable WiFi connection. Bicycles can be stored dry in a carport or a bike rack. In the basement of the house there is a small sauna area with its own bathroom, which also looks inviting. However, due to the nice weather we didn't use it. Also in the basement there is a beautiful play room where you can safely bridge a day of bad weather with a football table, games, a toy horse, televisions and a small book corner. There are also water boxes available that you can use for a fair price through a trust fund. We will definitely come back on another trip to Borkum.

We were there with the whole family, including our grandchildren, and we really enjoyed our time. The welcome was incredibly warm, and they even asked if we needed anything else. I really like that kind of thing: a personal connection, not an anonymous apartment bunker. 🧡 The apartments themselves lacked nothing; we occupied three of them and even cooked together. We were also able to use the garden, which the children especially loved. Because of the good weather, we were able to eat and drink coffee outside in the morning and evening. The sea isn't far; it's a short walk and you're on the beach. I would generally recommend renting bikes upon arrival (there are two rental shops nearby) so you can pick up rolls in the morning or quickly cycle into the center. There's a liquor store around the corner, so you can fill up the fridge. The building also offers the option of taking drinks from a communal fridge using a checklist, so you're always supplied. 😀 If you don't feel like cooking in the evening, the Café Sturmeck restaurant is a 12-minute walk away – there you can enjoy the sunset with a delicious meal (the plaice was heavenly). Overall conclusion: I'd love to come back and thank you so much! 💐

It was a very nice and pleasant stay. We booked an apartment with one bedroom, but due to repairs to the wardrobe we were offered to move into another, larger apartment at no extra charge. It was very nicely furnished and everything that was needed was there. A wonderful holiday with a very nice landlady who is very caring and helpful. Always my pleasure.
