Appellation Lodi Wine & Roses Resort & Spa

We're from Sacramento and on a whim decided to do a quick overnight here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Place was amazing, staff wonderful, and food delicious. The resort upgraded us to a special suite free of charge and it was awesome. Highly recommend this hidden jewel!

I quite enjoyed W&R, was interesting the lovely lady informed me they had just redone the room I stayed in because I would have laid a good size bet the suite hadn’t been updated in quite a few years. Nevertheless the bed was comfortable and the room was pristinely clean. A few details, there was an electrical outlet without a cover and wires exposed, it could have done with a little better lighting in the bathroom and the contemporary photos of the rooms definitely didn’t match the rather bland beige 1980’s ‘updated’ feel. One other thing, the two macaws, Ruby and Bestman, are being feed striped sunflower seeds as their main diet. While they love them it’s like a human living on a diet of donuts 24/7. Liver disease is common with large parrots on a seed diet, especially a diet that includes striped sunflower seeds. It would be lovely if the owners did some research in regards to a healthy diet for Macaws. The restaurant they have there would certainly be able to accommodate a great diet for the birds. The restaurant and bakery/market are definitely worth a visit with lovely staff and a lovely selection of food and wine.

Cute little hotel. A bit overpriced for what you get. The restaurant was under construction. Drinks were good but overpriced. The little shops were nice. Breakfast amenities were scarce and overpriced. Beautiful well kept property. Nice pool.
