With a bit of a delay, I would like to give all my compliments to this lovely and charming hotel. My wife and I were on vacation in May this year, and everything was wonderful—from the amazing staff (special greetings to Helena), to the superb, fairy-tale location, the history of the hotel itself, the view of the castle, and the beautiful, quiet garden. All recommendations for this hotel, and we look forward to returning soon. Greetings from Serbia!
A really great option in Prague. Quite area. Beautiful building. Huge rooms for a great price. Our parents had laundry in the room, we did not. But we had a big living room, dining room, kitchenette and an extra half bath. The staff was extremely attentive and easy to communicate with. The breakfast spread was fantastic and in a beautiful attic in a historic building. Beds were a little stiff and the AC made frequent whining noise. It’s up the hill so plan to take the 194 short bus up with your luggage which drops you right by the hotel, just note that the bus does not stop on the way down. On the bright side your a short walk from the castle and the monastery/brewery is a short hike up the rest of the hill as well with beautiful views along the way.
I stayed in the Appia Hotel with my two daughters , both early 30s in age. We are a fussy threesome, and we were not disappointed. The Appia was perfect for our 3 nights stay , we absolutely loved our stay. We loved our apartment, very spacious, and very clean. Breakfast was a delight, a lovely selection , and we ate well. The staff are most helpful in recommending restaurants etc., and were very pleasant. The hotel is situated in a lovely peaceful area, no noise, and not far in walking distance from the main part of Prague. The Castle, Monastery , and plenty other interesting sites are nearby, and in walking distance. The Appia is a Bed and Breakfast stay. There is a small bar, which we did not use , as were out in the evenings eating out, and enjoying the local beer. There are lovely cafes , restaurants , shops near to the hotel, so no need to go to main Prague centre for eating out etc. Public transport is easily available, however, we walked everywhere, as all we wanted to see/do was in walking distance. We loved the Appia Hotel, and if returning to Prague would definitely choose to stay there again. Margaret Clements , daughters Catherine and Emily.
