Applegarth Villa Hotel & Restaurant

We enjoyed a warm welcome and a fantastic evening meal in the restaurant this week. Friendly, professional and personable hosts - absolutely first rate. My partner had the lamb and I had the steak, then a cheese board... we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the excellent wine. The interior is luxurious and comfortable, with a lovely view from the restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday and coming here made it really special. Thanks to our lovely hosts and we would definitely come back if in the area again.

Exceptional warm welcome from this family run business. Kevin went out of his way to ensure our stay was everything we planned. The rooms are spacious, clean and exactly as you see them on the website. The hot tub rooms are relaxing, clean and there are plenty of robes and towels provided. The Apple restaurant is not to be missed and it’s easy to see how Chef Ross has earned his rosettes. The food is excellent and the portion sizes sufficient. We are returning customers and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Windermere. It’s just over a mile walk to the lake so very well positioned, yet quiet and restful. We’ve already booked our next stay with Alan and Suzanne, we highly recommend you book!

Just popped in for breakfast as they now take ‘walk ins’. The hotel itself is great, lovely decoration and views from the dining room were fantastic. Service from the moment we walked in was excellent and it made a simple breakfast feel plush and special! The food and choice was great and it was well made with great tasting local produce! They do lunch and afternoon tea now too so we will be coming back for sure!
