We (family of 4) stayed in the Blue Penthouse Suite for 9 nights. They knew we were arriving early and made arrangements to drop our luggage off ahead of time. Upon arrival our apartment was ready for us. What a wonderful surprise after a long flight! The accommodations were clean and well stocked. The sunset was beautiful and easily visible from the rooftop pool and hot tub which is where you found us most nights. Location was perfect for reaching any part of the island. A few restaurants and beaches down the road and a grocery store just a couple minutes away. They have secure private parking. Breakfast arrived each morning between 7:30/8. They had quite a few options and the bread was always fresh. The beds were also comfy which was so nice after long days discovering all the island beauty. They leave you alone to enjoy yourself but are there if you ever need anything. Would definitely recommend staying at Aqua Pópulo!!

It's a beautiful facility with spacious apartments and friendly staff. There were a few minor issues: We didn't know how to check in or get inside. We added the hotel phone number in WhatsApp, messaged them, and got instructions. Ordering breakfast, also via WhatsApp, was a bit confusing in terms of quantities. I think on one day we also received someone else's breakfast instead of ours. The Jacuzzi is outside on the roof, and in February it loses quite a bit of heat and doesn't keep you warm for very long. It would also help if there was a sign explaining what to do with the Jacuzzi cover (it should be covered when not in use to avoid losing heat) Lastly, only half of the shower stall is covered by a glass screen, so the floor gets wet quite a bit when showering. Other than that, the rooms are beautiful, the staff is super friendly and helpful, the breakfast is delicious, there's plenty of parking, and the location is fantastic.

We booked this listing in the Azores based on photos and a description that promised a luxury stay. What we walked into, however, was far from that – and extremely disappointing, especially after a long day of travel with two young kids. We arrived late at night to find a giant dead cockroach right on top of a dirty shower drain — our first impression of the apartment. The door barely locked and required force to close. Inside, the couch was stained and filthy, the mattress was cheap and uncomfortable, topped with thin, flat pillows and low-quality sheets. The kitchen was stocked with old, used sponges, and many fixtures (including a pest repellent device — clear indication of a known issue) were loosely attached or falling off the walls. The general cleanliness was unacceptable: dirty walls, hairballs on the floor, and cockroaches in the hallway. It was clear this place had not been maintained to any reasonable standard. With our children already asleep and no alternative accommodation that late, we had no choice but to stay the night. But we checked out well before the normal time the next morning. We informed the front desk of everything we’d found and followed up with management twice to request a refund — with no response whatsoever. This property is not as advertised, and the lack of accountability from management only made things worse. I will be attaching photos to support this review — I urge other travelers to be cautious and avoid the disappointment and stress we experienced.
