A large family-run hotel that offers everything you need. Fine is the pool, fitness and location right on the beach. The rooms are relatively well designed. The bathrooms are rather small. We rate the breakfasts average and the dinners average as well. For a couple of days it is sufficient. The internet is very poor quality.
The hotel is beautiful, and the staff very nice. Super close to the beach, great for kids. Minor reason to complain is the fact that it's impossible to get any lunch. All restaurants are closed, and there's no room service. That's unacceptable for a ****+ beach resort with no other good food options in walking distance.
JULY 2025 REVIEW First of all, this is a place that is real. And has some very good elements. But the total quality is lacking a little bit. I will try to explain as I was in doubt about Rügen and Aquamaris when doing research. AQUAMARIS It was meant to be grand and they should really remove the signs for pizza, steak etc. There is just one restaurant that is busy in the morning and evening with buffet. People don't use the bar that much. There is a bowling alley, tabletennis etc in the basement that is a ghost town and screams 90's/00's. They have a kids club (only in German) that is a nice touch, but it wasn't used very much. It's true that you have to pay extra for both parking, renting a little cabana on the beach and the price for a single visit to the restaurant is also quite absurd. The pool is simple but nice. They should really instruct people to shower before going in though. RESORT The resort is actually low key nice with plants and a staff that attends to it. Houses are a bit run down on the outside, but are okay inside. It's a bit odd that you don't get towel or linen service when staying for five days, so we had to go and get some ourselves from the carts. Everyone smokes there. And the terraces are right next to each other. So unless you want to sit right next to your neighbours and get smoke in your face, then you can't really use that. And you have to close your windows if you don't like smoke. Beach is pretty good. Cars selling snacks, but service level is mixed and only cash. There is no chance regarding putting stuff on your tab. STAFF Staff at reception, cleaning etc are friendly. They only speak German and are not very good at trying to speak simple German if you understand and speak a little. The guy serving pizza in the beach restaurant is a huge jerk. Super aggressive. Simple kitchen, but okay. Cash only. RÜGEN The location of Aquamaris is not ideal if you want to see Rügen. You have to drive on this bumpy road for 20 minutes to get out of that part. We didn't get to see as much as planned because it would be a lot of driving. The area is also quite dead. And the foot is very local and heavy. A lot of deep fry. They only speak German, they only want cash and you have to chase toilets (where you also have to pay). Otherwise it's quite nice. A kind of German version of Alcudia in Mallorca).
