Arathena Rocks Hotel

We stayed here for 2 weeks, and what a stay. The hotel itself is decorated in a cozy, italian and just adorable style. The layout is not complicated and you immediately enter to the reception. The room we had was clean and was cleaned everyday with fresh towels and bedsheats. There is enough space to store your clothes and stuff in cabinets. The bathroom was also big enough and well fitted, with different kinds of towels and a hair dryer. I don't know if every room had a balcony but we had one that was big enough with a table and 2 chairs. We didn't have seaside view but because of the balcony we had an amazing view of the surroundings and the Etna in the distance. The room also had a fridge and an airco which was a pleasant welcome. Our stay had the breakfast included which had a diverse enough range of food; eggs/bacon/sausages, fruits, yogurts, toast/bread/baguette/crackers, mini cakes, etc. as well as coffee, juices and water. The pool at the hotel was a saltwater pool, which we didn't expect but wasn't really a problem. I was wel maintained and was fresh and clean so it was good. Also there were enough sunbeds (even after some people claimed them with towels and left for the day). The personel of the bar and of the whole hotel is very friendly and helpful and actually chat with you if that's something you like. They were even so helpful as to lend us bandaids and stuff for ants, and even let us take it with us for a couple of days if we wanted. In short, the hotel is cozy and decorated quite cutesy Italian. The breakfast and lunch have a good variety of option. The rooms are clean an well fitted with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff is friendly and will do their best to really give you the best holiday. We might be back someday because it was just a nice place to stay.

A decent budget hotel to experience Sicily. The rooms are sparsely decorated, for example there are no rugs. The building itself and the gardens and pool area are quite nice though, with lots of beautiful sculptures etc. The pool is a saltwater pool, which might not be obvious. It is also quite shallow, which means that you can not dive into it. The location has a great view and it is possible to walk to the main promenade of Giardini-Naxos in approximately 15 minutes, where there are lots of restaurants. There is free parking at the hotel. The food is not very good unfortunately, which is disappointing, since it is a main reason many people choose Italy for their travels. The bread from the breakfast buffet is not fresh and the deli meats are low quality as if it was bought from Lidl. They put this on the pizza as well, which was definitely not up to standards, even at a budget hotel. We got upgraded to a nicer room which we thought was really thoughtful. So that definitely brings this up one star. Overall, the staff was very friendly and seemed to care about the comfort of their guests.
