Arcotel Castellani

This was an excellent hotel with great service. What really made a difference was how professional, helpful and polite the staff were. They spoke good English, adjusted the air conditioning when I got too cold and helped me print off my boarding pass for the plane. The staff were also very kind and helpful when I became ill during my stay. I definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay there again if I ever return to Salzburg.

Booked this for family vacation with kids. No bathroom amenities provided, staff was limited so everyone was running around and service was affected. No bathroom amenities were provided like lotion, soap. Shower head was not working, had to use the hand shower the whole time. No hot water most of the time. Staff were rude and arrogant. No bell boy during check in and no other staff was willing to help. Location is okay but not great, no views. Booked this based on 4 star ratings we saw but basically did not feel like a great hotel with family.

So we booked the hotel looking at its 4 star status and the location but as soon as we reached the hotel, one after the other our experience got worse. Firstly, as all would expect from a 4 star hotel, it's basic courtesy of providing a bell boy to help you with your luggage but there was none. Since we were traveling with infants and my old age parents, it was very difficult to manage pulling the luggage from the stairs and taking up the room.. We booked a Junior suite and There was no fridge in the suite and the kettle didn't work and one of the balcony door popped out which could have hit one of our kids.. Upon complaining of the door, no body showed up even till the next morning. The tea bags which were used on the first day were not even recouped till the last day. Breakfast was included but it was only for the name sake as very less options for vegetarians. Very less fruit options and we couldn't even find hash brownies which is available in breakfast even at a 2 star hotel.. Lastly at checkout, I again asked for a bell boy, this time they said it's available but for a charge. I mean which 4 star hotel charges for a bell boy, since I was left with no option, I had to agree and ended up paying €4 per bag for a total of 7 bags. Long story short - If you are looking for an actual 4 star luxury proporty, this aint one and I am for sure never ending up in any of Arcotel properties..
