Just seen that bad review, and got to make one my self. I had the complete opposite experience. There for my sisters wedding 2 weeks ago. So polite on the phone when booking and paying a month in advance. Had 2 baby's with us. Got a family room with cot. Extra towels which was nice ( It's the little things) So lovely when arriving polite and friendly atmosphere. What a gorgeous hotel. Id admit the showers got no power at all and the air conditioning didn't work. But huge room . Bridal suit was amazing for my sister. The wedding its self no hick ups at all Staff were lovely 😍 couldn't fault it. Thank you for making my sisters day amazing 👏
We had a ladies mini golf break to Ardencote. Afternoon golf, dinner, shared room, breakfast buffet, more golf. Great location for a mixed age and ability group. Course is very flat and not particularly interesting but suited the needs of our group and our texas scramble comp. One lady hired a buggy. The spa facilities were lovely. We all agreed that the hotel and the dinner were great. I thought the staff were particularly helpful.
We recently stayed at The Ardencote to celebrate our wedding, and sadly, the experience was hugely disappointing not because of the venue itself, which is beautiful, but because of the attitude and behaviour of most of the staff. From the moment we booked, the customer service left a sour taste. The online booking staff were extremely hostile, blunt, and spoke down to us as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. Unfortunately, this attitude continued in person. Upon arrival — in full wedding attire we weren’t greeted with so much as a “welcome,” let alone a “congratulations.” It was clear that our special occasion meant nothing to the staff, who were cold and disinterested throughout. To make matters worse, there was no help offered with our suitcase, which we had to retrieve ourselves at 1am. The overall treatment was far too informal for a place that markets itself as a luxury destination and for the price, we expected far better. The one saving grace was the restaurant. The staff there were a complete contrast: friendly, warm, and accommodating. We managed to book a table last minute, were made to feel welcome, and were even surprised with a lovely congratulations dessert, a gesture we deeply appreciated. The spa was also a highlight: peaceful, beautifully maintained, and easy to book. It’s such a shame that the hotel staff, particularly those at reception and in bookings, let the experience down so badly. With a change in attitude and customer service training, this could be a truly special place. As it stands, I wouldn’t return or recommend it for any special occasion.
