This morning we ate at this place and it was really lovely. The waiter was polite, nice and helpful. We felt welcomed since we stepped in and were instantly helped. We tried to do the West highland way for the second time but unfortunately we couldn't go on... but after walking so much, having painful feet, cold and hungry we were happy to stop at this place. Prices were good and you pay for what you get. The chef did an incredible jon because the food tasted really nice and fresh. It was warm and cozy. *I visited Scotland for the first time 2 years ago and fell in love with this country. People here are humble and willing to help whenever we needed it, the views are beautiful and I can breathe some fresh air. The only sad part is going back to my country and dreaming about the next time I will be able to go back. Thanks to everyone for our lovely experience!❤️
We have stayed at Ardlui before - years ago when we went to see Runrig at Balloch - so when we decided to walk the West Highland Way it was top of my list for a revisit. We enjoyed taking the ferry over after a tiring walk up Loch Lomond and loved sitting outside with a cold drink taking in the views, it really is in a beautiful setting. Our room also had lovely views out to the loch and was nicely decorated. Our evening meal was tasty although we did worry the waiter had forgotten about us but all was good in the end. Unfortunately, the ferryman didn't turn up at 9am to take us back across the loch to restart the trail but someone went and sorted it out and he eventually turned up just before 10 which was a pain as we had a long way to walk that day but not the fault of the hotel. All in all we had a lovely experience and would stay again.
Food tasted quite nice nothing especially stood out it was just good a bit expensive but it's the location that you're paying for. Drink isn't overly priced though, and the staff were nice and pleasant. The view's are amazing though
