Had dinner at Argyle Grand Hotel and it was a great experience! The starter was absolutely amazing, and the portions were generous. The food was finger-licking good! The staff were super friendly, and the ambience was warm and inviting. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner spot in town.
This is the best place to stay at close to the airport but if you don't have enough time to enjoy all the amenities, you might feel like you overpaid. We barely got to spend a few hours arriving past midnight and leaving early in the morning but the room was spacious, the staff was good and the breakfast was excellent. Might end up staying here again before our flight back but maybe we will get to spend a few more hours this time.
My visit to Argyle Grand was for daytime business so I didn't get a chance to use their rooms, I'll therefore skip that part. The location is okay; on Mombasa road on the service road towards the SGR station so fairly accessible. Parking seems to be a tad limited given the size of the hotel, and given that there's a part of the facility that seems to be still under construction, I'm not sure how this will play out in the long run. Although the hotel seems to be targeted as luxury/high-end, I didn't feel that bit as much as I would have expected. Yes, there are some luxurious touches all over the facility, such as smart toilets with automated bidets and heated seats and heated water, but the general construction feels a bit underwhelming considering the positioning. Conferencing facilities are great, the conference rooms are well equipped with good sound and very large screens. The food was okay, but could be better. Options were few both for the buffet lunch and even fewer for the accompanying soft drinks, which were very basic. Desert was average; at this positioning, I expected to see a better job in this department. Access to the hotel proper from some of the parking areas does not say "luxury" at all; you'll pass through some very rough-looking areas and you will get rained on. I understand that the facility is still partly under construction, but a better job could have been done here. On the same note, the pools next to the restaurant areas don't look the part; work is required here. In general, the facility is okay, but is still under construction but might need some work to properly fit in the "luxury" department.
