What a fabulous Inn! The kind of charm and warmth lacking in nearly every place you can stay anywhere these days. From the attention to detail in the original design to the quiet and peace in the library, the restaurant and on the beautiful grounds. The food is wonderful as well and - gasp!- no piped in music in most places! I've lived in Arizona my whole life and am so glad to have found this historic gem.
We had a lovely stay at the Arizona Inn from Sunday to Wednesday last week. Alex at the front desk helped us with many decisions about places to visit and dine. Robert was our bartender the first night and everyone loved him. We stayed up later because of him. What an impeccable property. I especially appreciated the plantings and landscaping and the old school feel to the inn. Morning coffee in the library was perfect and I so appreciated it being ready early! We hope to return soon. It was my daughter-in-law’s first visit to the western U.S. and she loved it.
This hotel is beautiful. It is truly a resort. The property is so large and there is nothing cookie cutter about it. My room had beautiful furniture from the 1930’s- 1950’s. It was large and spacious and had a walk out patio with a table two chairs, two very nice lounge chairs and a great view of the property, especially at night when the gardens were twinkling with soft lights. Everything in my room was crisp, clean and my king size bed extremely comfortable. I stayed two nights and each time I walked on the grounds I discovered something different and unique. There was no resort fee or charge for any of the activities. The pool was gorgeous. There was actually a changing building next to the pool with showers, dressing rooms, and a sauna. Very nice beach towels laid out as you enter the gated courtyard for the pool. The restaurant was very elegant and the bar area comfortable and inviting. There is a very large library where they serve tea and it is a gracious spot just to read or take a quiet moment. But in my opinion I saved the best for last. Every person I encountered was welcoming, attentive to my questions or needs, and each one went above and beyond to help me with the smallest of requests. With everything I just mentioned I do not want to leave an impression that the Arizona Inn is stuffy or pretentious it is simply the way it’s always been done. It is evident in each interaction the current employees take real ownership in preserving the traditions and history of this beautiful hotel.
