We spent two nights at the ARK hotel at the end of May 2025. The location seemed ideal since it was close to the train station and a walkable distance to city center. Unfortunately we learned the hard way that the proximity to the train station and the fact that it is on a very busy street and intersection makes it a target for crime. There is no security in the lobby and anyone can walk in and head directly to the elevator. The elevator does not require a key to use it so anyone can access any floor and the hotel rooms. Our stay included breakfast which was in a dining area off the lobby. No one is present to check whether you are a hotel guest when you enter the dining area and anyone could walk in and start eating. There was a door in the dining area that led to an exterior patio off the busy street. On our last morning, I had brought my suitcase and backpack to breakfast and sat them next to my table. I went to get a cup of coffee and when I came back to the table, my backpack was gone. The back door to the patio was ajar, so obviously someone had used it to leave quickly after grabbing my bag. The hotel manager informed us that there were no cameras on the exterior of the building or in the lobby. I walked the perimeter of the property and noticed there was an RV campsite adjacent to the hotel which can also lead to transient activity in the area. Although management was empathetic, I don't believe they were very supportive. The hotel is severely lacking in security and is not safe.

I slept in Ark two days, a very simple room (4 star hotel), but I don’t want to refer to the room. On the last day, I was out of the lobby and wanted to travel in the scooter, my cellular network didn’t work, I went into the lobby to connect to the hotel’s WiFi, so far out I forgot my wallet with a small side bag that was stolen I searched the wallet inside the lobby and outside (there is a smoking area) I couldn’t find the wallet, probably taken of course I asked the admission people in the lobby if there were cameras because I think I know who took my wallet, they said there were no cameras They barely treated me, they saw I was terrified and desperate, even water they didn’t offer me, ashamed. Nasty service just like the hotel

Hello, Thank you for your response to my previous message. Allow me to clarify the situation. I approached the reception desk and politely asked if it was possible to use the WiFi. At the moment, I am undertaking a cycling tour from Warsaw to Portugal, filming videos for my channels about life in the countries I visit. To my surprise, I was refused and told it was prohibited by some Italian law. I would greatly appreciate it if you could clarify exactly which law or internal hotel regulation your staff member was referring to when denying access to Wi-Fi or to the hotel lobby for someone who is not a guest. I find this situation quite unusual. In my life, I have traveled to over 40 countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels, and only in Italy have I occasionally encountered something like this. I would genuinely like to understand what this phenomenon is connected to. Why do financial interests seem to be placed above basic human values? Frankly speaking, this reminds me of the history of apartheid in South Africa, when people were divided into categories and restricted in their rights based on their status or belonging. Personally, I would never stay in a hotel that divides people into categories and refuses a simple, harmless request. If access to the hotel lobby is indeed prohibited for non-guests, it would be honest and transparent to place a clear sign at the entrance stating: “Access to the hotel is restricted to guests only.” I sincerely hope this message will encourage you to reconsider your approach to such situations. Wishing you a good day.
