ArsDurium Douro hotel

Most wonderful hosts went out of their way to make our stay comfortable during the Ultra Douro e Paiva race. Beautiful views. The rooms are modern but hotel is well integrated in local community. Although a bit out of the way do recommend the detour.

Good place to get away from it all. The way to the place is very tricky but paid off with the view. I don't have mobility issues but I imagine the place being challenging in those cases. Rooms are very Spartan but spacious, the temperature slightly too high. Good mattress. Breakfast and dinner are kind of limited in options but food is good. The staff is awesome.

Positive - amazing view! Negative - no comfort associated with ecological sustainability. The linen , the pillows, the mattress, the towels are old and very poor quality. On top of all we have shared with the owner that the wooden floor was always wet with a very unpleasant smelld due to the heating system which he claimed in a very defensive manner to be normal and that we should get used to it ! There is no customer focus nor comfort so the best was really when we got to our home sweet home ☺️
