The fact that they only have such a low rating puzzles me. We have stayed at this hotel for only one night as a stopover, so we didn't expect much from the hotel. But from the booking process to check-out, we were thoroughly impressed. The staff were well-trained and professional—one even farewelled us on the street after we checked out, simply because he saw us leaving the hotel. Our room was clean, fully functional, and equipped with everything we needed. If I had to mention a few things they could improve on: There wasn't electric ventilation in the bathroom. While there was a ventilation hole in the ceiling, it didn't seem to do much. As a result, the corners of the mirror showed signs of damage from excess moisture. The bathroom looked a bit dated and discoloured, which some guests might find unappealing. The furniture also appeared a bit old. Personally, I didn't mind because they worked fine and were well-designed, but this might be off-putting for others. We are not fans of public baths, so we can't comment on that facility. As for parking, all the hotels in Asahikawa's CBD seem to lack their own parking lots, so they charge reasonable parking fees. We didn't mind paying 1,000 yen for 24-hour parking—compared to Australia, where CBD hotels typically charge at least 30 AUD per night. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and if we visit Asahikawa again, we'll definitely choose the Art Hotel again.

A pleasant stay at Art Hotel Asahikawa. While the room was on the smaller side, it was clean and adequately equipped for a short stay. The real highlight, however, was the buffet breakfast at the Minori restaurant with an excellent view—an exceptional spread with both Western and Japanese offerings, all fresh and delicious. The hotel lobby was spacious and tastefully designed, with charming touches like the adorable plush animals display. Convenient location and friendly staff made the overall experience rather pleasant.

Room 624 is old, cramp (can't even put our luggages down to unpack and pack, see photo), dirty with many dirt marks on wall (see photo), broken under sink cover (see photo), unlevelled bath with water flowing onto the bathroom floor while showering with shower curtain covered. Plus it's just next to the lift, so noisy with many people talking just outside the room 624 while waiting for the lift!!! Service at Minori restaurant is great. Haven't interacted with front desk staff as we travel with tour group. The room is nowhere near what was shown on website, that's false advertising.
