Nice, clean and modern hotel in a safe, central area of the city, at walking distance from the old town and central station. All the amenities everywhere, not big, but very well organized and pleasant. The room was big enough and with everything you need: tea and coffee facilities, good and functional storage space, couch , spotlessly clean, good quality products in the bathroom, well maintained furniture, safe, fridge, green options for helping nature. Breakfast was very good and tasty with fresh and good quality cold and savoury products, a large choice and never missing anything. Very nice and efficient staff, quiet and comfortable everywhere. I definitely recommend this hotel.
I have never in my life experienced such an argumentative receptionist while checking in. I asked for advice for parking, she immediately went in to ask if I had reserved and if not then I had to park in a garage half a mile away. I had already secured a parking space outside I was asking for a advice, but that advice was it was for residents only! I went back out to the parking meter and a kind gentleman explained what I needed to do! Sorted, I returned and suggested to the girl on reception that she just advise people in the future that the parking machines have English etc She immediately went on full scale argument with me! I asked to speak to her manager but she informed there was no one else there! Very nice she was to all German customers, giving them maps etc but to us we were keys dumped and use in lift! I now can't wait to leave in the morning! Update - I did not at any stage ask her to get me a parking ticket! I asked for advise but the only narrative she had been given was the multi storey car park. I attempted to book a parking place but you informed me I was too early the first time and too late the second! Parking is available on the street! I recommend you provide adequate training to your staff and yourself for your guests, especially non German ones!
I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience demands a warning: avoid Art Hotel City Leipzig. The room bore little resemblance to the description. Though listed as an 18 m² “comfort double” with a seating area and desk, the layout was so cramped it felt more like a converted storage closet. The desk and chair were unusable, shoved up against the bed with no functional space to sit or work. The “courtyard view” was the back wall of another building. Even the bedding didn’t fit the bed properly. What made the stay truly miserable was the treatment I received from staff. Receptionist E. Schultz was openly hostile. When I raised concerns about the room, she escalated the situation instead of addressing it, ultimately calling me a liar to my face. I’ve never encountered a hospitality employee who appeared to enjoy making things more difficult for a guest — it was unsettling and humiliating. The manager, Lucas, was cold and dismissive, offering no interest in resolving the situation. To be fair, one receptionist (who checked me in the day before) was kind and empathetic. She acknowledged the issues and expressed a sincere desire to help resolve them when the manager was available. Unfortunately, that goodwill was completely undone by what followed. Don’t be fooled by the hotel’s polished branding or curated photos. What you actually get is a cramped, uncomfortable room and, worse, a staff culture that treats you like an inconvenience. This was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve ever had. I strongly recommend booking elsewhere.
