Overall very good value hotel. I have read about it in Lonely Planet hirosaki part, especially recommending its breakfast, and it was indeed super tasty. Lots of variety both Japanese and western, local ingredients are widely used with detailed introduction, giving me an opportunity to learn about their fresh produce. Everything I tried was cooked well. Room cleanliness and service were satisfying too. Another advantage is that it’s right next to the train station, convenient for tourists using hirosaki as a base to travel to nearby towns.
The Art Hotel Hirosaki is conveniently located next to the Hirosaki train station. Within the same complex there is a 7-11 store, a gym, and a swimming pool all available to the public. The hotel has modern rooms with the standard room just big enough for a double bed. The service at the front desk and breakfast service is professional all the way. The included breakfast offers a wide range of options. The surrounding areas host dozens if fine restaurants, bars, and shops. Hirosaki Park is reached via a 25 min walk.
外國人不友善!環境老舊衛生整潔不佳。 Unfriendly to foreigners and poor sanitary conditions. You can have a better choice with the price. I’ve traveled to Japan for over ten years, and this was one of the worst stays I’ve ever had. We checked in around 5 PM and were given a room next to the valve control room, where we immediately noticed a constant vibrating noise. When we requested a room change, the staff initially refused, claiming there were no vacancies —yet later that night, we saw only a few lit windows, making their excuse questionable. However, after insisting, they finally moved us to a room at the end of the corridor. Due to religious reasons, we requested another change immediately, and guess what? They gave us another room next to the valve control room. At this point we were just too exhausted to negotiate again. As if that wasn’t enough, the room itself was a nightmare—old, dirty, noisy, and filled with dust. It had a strong odor, and the rug and linens were filthy. Both my friend and I sneezed a lot and had severe allergic reactions. We packed and left in the middle of the night to change hotel.
